Alcatel One Touch phone introduced to Ghana market

 

Alcatel One Touch phone introduced to Ghana market TLC Communication, designer and manufacturer of Alcatel One Touch branded mobile devices, has introduced its One Touch Scribe HD handset to Ghana. A release from TLC says the Scribe HD, which is exclusively on tiGO,  features a 5" HD touch screen and 720 pixels resolution, has all the applications needed to create, play, work and scribble, among other things.

MTN drives data penetration

 

MTN, the country’s biggest telecom company has strategised to drive Internet and data penetration in the country at a faster rate.  Consequently, the company has deployed 21 megabyte per second (MBPS) data services to enhance customer experience and test what it described as its “next-generation of ultra-high speed connectivity of 42 MBPS”.

Nii Narku Quaynor - Africa's 'Father of the Internet'

 
 If you're reading this somewhere in Africa, then perhaps you should thank Nii Quaynor. The Ghanaian professor is known as "Africa's father of the internet," a web pioneer who helped establish some of the continent's first online connections. For some 20 years now, soft-spoken Quaynor has been at the forefront of web development across Africa. He is the first African to be elected to the board of ICANN, the internet corporation for assigned names and numbers.

Rlg honoured at UAE’s electronic transaction summit

 

Rlg Communications Group has been given an award for technological innovation by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of United Arab Emirates (UAE), regulators of the telecom sector. It was awarded during the first Electronic Transaction and Commerce Summit in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Rlg’s Head of Digital Marketing, Ashraf Kanjo, received the award, the first honour for the company since it relocated its Global Operations to Dubai about a year ago.

MTN launches festival to promote data use

 

 

MTN has launched the third edition of its Internet Festival dubbed (IFest) to drive awareness to enhance the use of the internet and data usage in the country. The festival would be a month-long campaign which would be interspersed with Data Clinics, a nation-wide tour of regional capitals and tertiary institutions aimed at educating and activating data for customers.
